Hello visitors, in this post I will share with you some group formations techniques for you to have your students collaborating during the class.
-It's one o'clock-
For this technique you need nothing.
1) The teacher asks students to stand up and move around the classroom (if you want, you can play music in the background).
2) After that, the teacher starts saying aloud 'It's four o'clock', 'It's six o'clock', 'It's nine o'clock'.
3) When students listen to the teacher, they have to form teams according to the hour specified. In this case, teams of four, six, and nine students.
4) After several rounds, the teacher says the definite number for grouping students.
-Find your match-
For applying this technique you will need sentences, riddles, or jokes that need to be completed, and a bag.
1) The teacher gives students a bag which contains the papers.
2) Students take one paper from the box and wait until the last student picks one to reveal it.
3) Students stand up and look for their match by asking their classmates for the correct answer.
4) Once they have found their partner, they sit down and wait for the teachers' instructions.
-Colors-
If you want to implement this technique, you will need a bunch of colors or crayons. There must be repeated colors.
1) The teacher asks students to choose a color.
2) Students grab a color from the can/bag and go back to their seats.
3) The teacher asks one by one what color they have. Students reply by saying aloud their color.
4) The asks students who have the same color to get together.
Well, in future posts I will share with you more techniques. I hope you can find these ones useful for your lessons.
