Lesson Idea: Facebook

Hello everyone, in this post you will find a way of teaching 'Likes and Dislikes' by using Facebook's most famous feature. It is really easy to get started with the topic because Facebook is the most popular social network of the world, so your students will be familiarized with it.

For the lesson you will need to print the 'like' and 'dislike' hands, so students can use them for the main activity. Also, you will need to write on strips of paper what you want to ask them if they like it or not.

The lesson starts by dividing the board into two; likes and dislikes. The teacher writes two examples on each section. For instance, I like pizza and I don't like vegetables.

After that, the teacher starts asking students Do you like [what the paper says]? The students should not answer the question orally, they have to show either the 'like' hand or the dislike' hand. When they do so, another student has to answer by saying He / She likes soccer or He / She doesn't like basketball.

In case of someone making a mistake, try to provide feedback in a way that he / she does not get exposed to it, by asking the whole class for the correct answer.

The lesson continues until everybody has participated and the board contains enough examples for them to understand how to talk about likes and dislikes.
