ESL Activity: Circle It

Hi everyone, in this post you will find a really fun and kinesthetic activity that is intended to review vocabulary.

You only need two or three markers (depending on the teams you want to participate in the competition) and flashcards.

Before the game starts, you have to write on the board the vocabulary you want to review. Make sure the words are not too close to each other, you will later know why this is important.

-Instructions-
1) The teacher divides the group into teams (two or three). Each team chooses the first student to participate in the game. They do not have to face the board, if possible, place them as far as you can from the wall.
2) The teacher shows a flashcard.
3) When the teacher shows them the flashcard, they have to run to the board and circle the word that the flashcard represents. The first student to circle the correct word wins a point for his / her team.
The words should be far enough from each other because when they circle the word, you will not have to erase the other ones.

The game continues until there are no more words on the board.
