ESL Activity: The Human Clock

Hi everyone, in this post you will find an activity for teaching the time.

For this activity you will need 12 sheets, each one with a number from 1-12. If you have a very large class, you can have 24 sheets.

-Instructions-
1) The teacher asks students to make two circles, each circle must have 12 students outside (these are going to be the numbers) and one student inside (this one is going to be the hands of the clock).
2) Then, the teacher hands the sheets to the students outside the circle and asks them to stand in the correct position.
3) Next, the teacher says aloud 'It's four fifty-five' or any specific time. Immediately, the student in the middle has to use his/her arms and put them in the correct place of the time said by the teacher.
The first student to get it right, wins a point for his/her team. An option is to change the student in the centre so all of them can be the hands of the clock and practice the time.
