ESL Activity: What Are You Saying?

Hello guys, today I will share an activity that I really enjoy applying it.

You only need headphones and music for this activity. Moreover, you can use it in different topics or grammar points.

-Instructions-
1) Divide the class into teams of 4. Each team must have a captain.
2) Then, the captain of the team  has to put the headphones while music is being played (it is recommended to play music that does not allow them to listen clearly, just watch out the volume).
3) The teacher shows a sentence to the rest of the team. They have to say it aloud to their captain.
Since he/she is listening to music, it will be difficult to understand what his/her peers are saying.
4) The captain has to write on the board the sentence he/she THINKS is the correct one.
5) Finally, the teacher underlines the words that are in both sentences. Each word gives the team a point.

You really have a great time with this activity, but sometimes you should control your students when they get too engaged and they make a lot of noise.
